Laura Critchley to perform in Mumbai for Vh1 Global Music Xpress

MUMBAI: International music and lifestyle channel Vh1 is bringing British singer-songwriter Laura Critchley to India as a part of the Vh1 Global Music Xpress series.

Conceptualised by Viacom Brand Solutions, Global Music Xpress is believed to be India's biggest music initiative. After the success of the first leg of this initiative with British R&B artist Jay Sean, this time it's Laura Critchley who will kickstart her India tour on 10 December in Mumbai 

With a voice described as that from a love child of Rod Stewart and Stevie Nix, Laura's name featured in the last 50 Fame Academy in 2001. Critchley's d?©but album, 'Sometimes I' was released in November 2007. Having supported major artists like the Sugababes and Boyzone on their respective arena tours, Critchley duetted with Ronan Keating and sung for Robbie Williams.

Laura's last single 'Today's Another Day' was released in June 2008 reached number four in the independent charts. Besides, Critchley has also won the Irish Entertainment Award for best live performance in Oct 2008.

of music we make back home. I look forward to meeting all my fans and friends in India and playing some of my new music and
also grooving with the audiences to my latest single 'Today's Another Day'" says Critchley  

As a part of Global Music Xpress intiative, Vh1 will is bringing down artistes from around the globe for live performances every 45 days. Six international artistes are set to perform at 24 gigs over a period of nine months.

Speaking on the initiative Vh1 India associate general manager Ferzad Palia says "We are partnering with Rayban for the second time for this initiative. Together it is our aim to present the best musicians and artists to our audiences and make
them part of a truly world-class musical experience. After the successful stint of British R&B artist Jay Sean, we decided to bring down the young and popular British singer Laura Critchley live in your city!"

Times Music has also partnered in this initiatve. Times Music, Chief Operating Officer, Adarsh Gupta says,  "We are very excited about getting Laura Critchley down to India and hopeful of the album doing exceedingly well here. She is an extremely talented artiste and we are glad to have partnered with VH1 for this excellent initiative."

After Mumbai, Critchley will enthrall audiences in Delhi, Hyderabad and Pune on the 12, 13 and 14 December, respectively.
