MUMBAI: Nightingale of India Lata Mangeshkar was bestowed with �Lifetime Achievement Award' by Bengali news channel �Chobbish Ghanta'.

While accepting the award the melody queen who has crooned over 30,000 songs in 20 languages said, I have sung a lot of songs in Bengali and Marathi. I think there is lot of similarity between the cultures of West Bengal and Maharashtra. But I regret that now I can't speak fluent Bengali due to lack of practice. But I have read novels of Bankimbabu and Saratbabu -who is my favourite. I have read all his novels more than once....

Other winners of Ananya Samman at the programme were human rights activist Binayak Sen and former renowned soccer player PK Banerjee.
