Lady Gaga's Born This Way records sales of 1,108,000 in US
MUMBAI: Lady Gaga's �Born This Way' has become the fastest-selling album this year world-wide, with the sales of 1,108,000 in its first week in the US
The album (Streamline/Interscope/KonLive) has ranked at #1 position on the Billboard 200 Album Chart, the first Lady Gaga album to debut at the top spot Earlier this year, the title track became the fastest single in history to reach sales of 1,000,000 copies worldwide by breaking the mark in five days.
With more than 2,88,000 copies sold on the first day in the US, �Born This Way' has amounted a sale of more than 1,000,000 copies outside the US
In the last week, two other singles from Born This Way have also reached the US Top 10: �Judas' and �The Edge Of Glory.' In addition, �Judas' has cracked the Top 10 in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Norway, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and UK.
The album also debuted at #1 position in the UK, where first-week sales were greater than the rest of the Top 10 combined and the best debut week by a solo American female artist since 2005
�Born This Way' became the first song to debut at #1 on the Hot 100 and remained at the top for more than a month since Elton John's 1997 version of �Candle �In The Wind' The album has also debuted at the top spot in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland and Taiwan
