Kolaveri sung by Sonu Nigam's son beats the original in mobile video views

MUMBAI: Although 'Kolaveri Di' garnered fame, applauds and recognition, the song has undoubtedly faced stiff competition from its milk version rendered by Sonu Nigam's four-year-old son, Nevaan. Recently, the milk song emerged in the list of the most-watched Indian videos in 2011, receiving more mobile video views than the original.

According to mobile video company Vuclip's monthly Global Video Insights Report, Kiddy Kolaveri: Milk-u' found more mobile video interest receiving over 2 lakh 86 thousand mobile video views, compared to the original Tam-English song, which was viewed just over 56,000 times by Indian mobile audiences.

When Nevaan had recorded his own version of 'Kolaveri Di' the song became a huge rage and generated over one million views on the internet in just three days.

Analyzing the mobile video viewing trends, Vuclip India & Middle East VP - business development and MD Salman Hussain said, "Indian mobile users love Bollywood and regional language cinema. Findings of our year-ender trend analysis for India re-affirm our belief. These trends also hold great lessons for mobile content providers and marketers - videos with a strong visual element typically generate more interest among mobile users."
