MUMBAI: Exploring the wide market space of music channels, Creative Channel Advertising & Marketing is all set to launch free to air Hindi music channel Khushboo TV. The channel is on test run and will be officially launched on 1 August.

Speaking about the newly launched channel with Radioandmusic.com, Creative Channel Advertising & Marketing promoter Sahib Chopra said, “Manoranjan TV has been running successfully for five years, we are looking forward to grab a strong hold in music market with Khushboo TV. We are targeting the Hindi speaking market and have acquired tracks from the golden era of 60s-90s. We are not focusing much on the new songs, but new age music as well as movie trailers will make up for a smaller part of the programming on the channel."

The channel is said to be in negotiations with several DTH players and the deals will be finalised by 1 August. The channel will telecast music from the pre-2000 era and will be available on cable and satellite connections. “We have acquired a library of about 2,000 albums and have allotted dedicated hours for new-age music. We are in talks with label but haven’t finalized yet.” Chopra added.

The channel focusing on rural areas will be extensively distributed in the Hindi speaking states of Delhi, UP, Haryana, Rajasthan, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.

Apart from promoting Khushboo TV, Creative Channel Advertising & Marketing is its major stakeholder. It also offers Hindi movie channel, Manoranjan TV.
