Kavita Krishnamurthy music app launched

MUMBAI: As digital emerges as the future of music today, singers too are now aiming to jump onto the bandwagon and keep themselves updated with technological advancements. Renowned playback singer Kavita Krishnamurthy has also gone digital by launching her own music app titled ‘Kavita KS’.

Available on the Android and iOS platforms, the app was developed by the singer’s daughter Bindu Subramaniam, also a singer and songwriter, as a birthday gift. It is already available for free download from the Apple app store and Google Play store.

The app features content including news, tour dates, music, videos and a fan wall where she communicates directly with them.

Speaking with Radioandmusic.com, she said, “I wanted to give back something to my fans who have supported me for over four decades. We spend much time on the move, and our smart phones are our constant companions, so I  thought an app would be a great way to connect. All the people who are interested in music can now get my information or songs easily. My daughter and I have worked with the platform SnapLion, that is great for artists and easy to use.”

The app is regularly updated with Krishnamurthy's latest information. “I have been receiving really positive feedback and I am glad that people are enjoying it,” she added.

Moreover, the singer is also in the process of completely revamping her website and make it more fan friendly.

Krishnamurthy recently returned from a tour in US and the Middle East. However, she has her plate full for the rest of the year.

Her upcoming projects include an album comprising of solos and duets. Currently in the final stages of mixing, the album has been composed by her husband Dr Lakshminarayana Subramaniam and features renditions of other renowned artistes.
