Kanpur's Big FM turns one

MUMBAI: Big FM's Kanpur station completed one year of its launch on 21 June.

As part of its anniversary celebrations, the station arranged a rain dance party at the Ganges Club and conducted a week long campaign called 'Big Thappa' wherein a small gratification was given to the person playing Big FM in his or her car, followed by a sticker, which was pasted at the back of the car .

Big FM, Cluster Head - UP East , Manav Shankar said, "We have been entertaining the people of Kanpur for the past year now and are thankful to them for welcoming us with open ears. The response has been phenomenal, which has worked as a great encouragement for Team .Our offerings have always cut above the clutter and ensured a positive influence on the lives of the listeners - whether on air or on ground. The coming year will only see our offerings strengthen."The release states, in the last one year, the station had been instrumental in bridging the social gap and creating awareness among the people of the city. The station had come up with ideas like, 'Bachpan' which aimed at the unprivileged children, organized vintage rally for elites, bicycle rally for environment, awareness about road safety rules and legal laws and many other ground events. These efforts were just to offer a wholesome entertainment mix for the people of the city.
