Kannada Ramayana on Fever Bangalore

* Star voices -- Srinagar Kitti plays Ram, Sharath is Raavan,  Dilip Raj plays Hanuman and Sihi Kahi Geetha is Kaushalya

BANGALORE: Happy with the success of the product in the three other metros in the north and the east of the country that it operates in, Fever 104 FM announced the launch of Fever Radio Ramayana in Kannada for its Bangalore station on 14 December.

We have had a very good response to this property – both from the listeners as well as the advertisers,... revealed Fever 104 FM Business Head S Keerthivasan. For the Kannada version we have a separate team to localize for Kannada tastes,... he added.

Among the artistes that Fever 104 FM has picked for Bangalore are actor Srinagar Kitti as the main character and hero Ram; Sandalwood actor Sharath who generally plays negative roles in films and television as Ram's main protagonist Ravaan, Sandalwood actor Dilip Raj as Ram's biggest bakth' (worshiper) Hanuman, and Kannada female actor Sihi Kahi Geetha as Ram's mother Kaushalaya.

For its Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata stations, Fever 104 FM has a single Hindi version that has Bollywood actors Naseeruddin Shah (Raavan), Om Puri (Kaal' meaning Time'), Anupam Kher (Dashrath) Jayati Bhatia (Kaikeyi) and Ratna Pathak Shah (Manthara) along with the main leads of the program.

Darius Sunawala, Regional Head of Programming (West and South) and National Head of Programming Solutions, Fever 104 FM, said,  We'll run five ten-minute episodes five days a week in Bangalore; a new episode each day. Initially we've planned to run each episode thrice daily, but depending upon listener demand, we may increase this to four and maybe even five times a day, as we have done in one of the cities where the show is on in Hindi. On weekends we'll run all the episodes for one hour. I think the show will be on for four months....

The Kannada version of Radio Ramayana has ITC's Mangaldeep Agarbattis (incense sticks) as the presenting sponsor.
