Jism 2 songs promo not to be released on TV

MUMBAI: After scraping the television premiere of Dirty Pictures, censor board has now blocked the song promo of Mahesh Bhatt's ‘Jism 2’. Due to its adult content, the song promo would only be released digitally.

The music album comprises of six songs out of which a theme track has been certified as ‘A’ considering its sexual content. Confirming the news with Radioandmusic.com, T-Series president-marketing and promotions Vinod Bhanushali said, “The title track of the movie has been certified ‘A’ by the censor board due to its content. Hence the track won’t be televised but will be a part of the CD and will also be available digitally for downloads. The action has been taken respecting the censor board’s decision.”

Fumed on Censor Board’s decision, Pooja Bhatt tweeted, "First music promo for Jism 2 has been given an 'A' certificate. And this was what one could call a truly watered down version. So the deal is this - You can't buy spots on TV for a promo with an 'A' certificate. Which basically means you can't publicize your music! Absolutely REFUSE to pare my scheduled trailer down to pander to an over cautious Censor board. Will release promo on the internet instead."

Speaking about the soundtracks, Bhatt tweeted, “We have six songs in Jism2. Only three cater to a universal audience without losing their essence. The other three cannot be made to seem asexual! Hence we will only submit to the censor board and plug on TV those songs of Jism2 what WE feel is appropriate for a family audience. The three Jism2 songs that cater to the average thinking, discerning, passionate, ADULTS may be viewed.”

Pooja Bhatt is glad T-Series, which owns the film's music rights, is in resonance with her decision. Praising the music label for approving the digital release, she added, “Delighted that @_Tseries is in absolute agreement with us with regards to NOT releasing watered down versions of Jism 2 trailers on TV. This is the FIRST time a mainstream film has chosen the internet and social media as a MORE than worthy competitor to television,"

Sequel to the 2003 film, Jism 2 features Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone, with Arunoday Singh and Randeep Hooda. Directed by Pooja Bhatt the film is all set to release on 3 August 2012.
