Jazzy B wants to break in Bollywood in 2013

MUMBAI: The crowned prince of Bhangra, Jaswinder Singh Bains aka Jazzy B who has recently rendered the theme song ‘Jugni’ for Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns is hopeful that Bollywood will have much more of him this year.

He is geared up to rock Bollywood with more of his songs. Speaking with Radioandmusic.com, he said, “I had heard the old Jugni from Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster and told the film-makers to change the song so they said it’s the theme song and needs to be included. They wanted to do Jugni to represent the female lead in it. The strength of the woman in the film is depicted through the track. She is the sweetest girl but if you would mess with her she is the most dangerous.”

He added, “ ‘Jugni’ is a folk song and anybody can sing so there is no competition on the way it’s sung. Hopefully people like it, I gave my best and making it a hit is up to the audience.” The original version of Jugni in ‘Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster’ was rendered by Babbu Mann and composed by Jaidev Kumar.

This year is when Jazzy B wants to break into Bollywood with his music. Earlier, he had rendered for Sunny Deol’s Teesri Aankh in 2006. Refusing to divulge much details, he said, “I cannot really mention about my projects in Bollywood, you know how the industry works until things are not finalized you don’t know if they will include the song or not. But I will produce my own track this year and that is for sure.”

Describing his work pattern different from bollywood, he said, “My style and beats are different and I will be comfortable only if I make the whole track and give it to the film-makers and if they want they can use it. Bollywood works in a different way. One day you meet someone and the next day you know you are recording in the studio and the very next day you know your music is out. We work in a different way, till the time we don’t nail the concept, we don’t go ahead, and we don’t compromise.”

Jazzy B had collaborated with Yo Yo Honey Singh for a party number ‘This Party Gettin Hot’, which had garnered over one million views online in just 80 hours. Till date it has received more than three million views. Bains expressed joyfully the delight of working with young talent like Singh. He said, “I felt really touched when Yo Yo Honey Singh said that he looks up to me and how he grew up listening to my music.”
