MUMBAI: Veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar was honoured with the Taj Enlighten Tareef Award at a workshop organised by the Enlighten Film Society and Brooke Bond Taj Mahal Tea in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Akhtar conducted the workshop on the art of scriptwriting at the Red Lounge, Cinemax Versova, wherein he shared his experiences and insights on Indian cinema, screenplay and his journey so far.

At the end of the workshop, he was felicitated with the award by scriptwriter Anjum Rajabali and Hindustan Lever category head-beverages Vikram Grover.

Akhtar, who has won national awards for his work on films like Jodhaa Akbar, Lagaan and Border, has been awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Indian government in 2007.
