'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' first track 'Challa' unveiled

MUMBAI: ‘Challa’, the first track from the highly awaited Shah Rukh Khan film ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ was unveiled today across the web.

Marking the first association of the legends, the song has been composed by music mozart AR Rahman and penned by renowned lyricist Gulzar. Rendered by Sufi singer Rabbi Shergill, the soulful  yet vibrant song along with the sonorous lyrics features Khan as a romantic hero strumming the guitar and meeting Katrina Kaif in the end.

Khan earlier tweeted, "Challa will be out on 1 Oct (Monday). Looking forward to it, haven't seen it since we finished shooting it."

Talking about his experience with Radioandmusic.com, Shergill said, “The word ‘Challa’ means silly in Punjabi and the lyrics invoke the question, ‘You silly one what are you looking for’. It was a pleasure rendering this track and more so to work with the genuises of Rahman and Gulzar. The whole team was a superlative one which put words and pictures into the director’s vision and I was just a small part of it. The music album is sure to look out for.”

Directed by Yash Chopra, the film is a love story based in modern times and will feature Khan playing the role of an army officer named Samar along with Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The movie, which is regarded as Chopra’s comeback venture after ‘Veer Zaara’ in 2000 is slated to release on 13 November.
