iTunes Festival adds Ed Sheeran, Placebo and Deadmau5 to impressive line-up

MUMBAI: If you thought that the iTunes Festival line-up could not get any better, think again. Joining an already stellar line-up of acts, which include Pharrell Williams, Kylie Minogue, Maroon 5, Calvin Harris, Kasabian, David Guetta and Beck, the festival has added a few more big names. Come September, the music fest will also see performances from Placebo, Ed Sheeran, Jessie J and Deadmau5, who will open the month long music event on 1 September.

Another big name addition to the iTunes Festival is iconic American jazz singer Tony Bennett, whose duet album ‘Cheek to Cheek’ with Lady Gaga will release next month. The new additions to line-up come a little less than a month after Apple revealed the first 21 acts that would be performing at the festival.

The festival has also announced a number of supporting acts like Wolf Alice for Lenny Kravitz, Foy Vance for Ed Sheeran, Foxes for The Script and Rae Morris for Paolo Nutini, among several others.

While acts for most of the days have been announced, Apple has yet to reveal acts for two days. This includes the music act on 19 September and the festival’s closing act, on 30 September.

Like every year, the iTunes Festival will be held at the Roundhouse in London. Tickets for the festival will be give out free to fans and iTunes users through prize draws in the US, Europe, Australia, Canada, Brazil, Mexico and Japan. Fans that cannot make it to the festival will be able to watch performances that will be streamed free on iTunes or through Apple TV.
