MUMBAI: The radio industry which is eagerly waiting for Phase III auctions has something to worry about as the sector’s total reach has once again declined, recording a negative CAGR of 5.8 per cent.
According to the Indian Readership Survey (IRS) 2011 Q4 report, radio recorded a reach of 156.69 million. In Q3, the total reach for radio was at 158.28 million.
Meanwhile, the sectors like cable and satellite (C&S) and TV continued their growth momentum with a CAGR of 13.9 per cent and 6.9 per cent respectively. Continuing to expand its reach, the Internet sector also recorded a positive CAGR of 46.7 per cent. The medium grew 11.4 per cent from a reach of 634.88 million in Q3 2011 to 639.71 million in Q4. The report is released by the Media Research Users Council (MRUC) and Hansa Research.
