Indian Idol contestants give wings to their dreams

MUMBAI: Sony TV's reality show Indian Idol 5 contestants Sreeram Chandra and Swaroop Khan can see their long-lived dream of playback singing almost fulfilled as both of them have bagged projects from leading composers in Bollywood.

Media reports nineteen-year-old Khan, a folk singer from Rajasthan lent his voice to ace composer Bappi Lahiri's upcoming film Emotional Atyachar. The music of the film is composed by Bappi Da and Mangesh Dhaake and lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Recording of the song took place at Bappi Da's studio on 24 July.

Also, 24-year old Hyderabadi singer Shreeramchandra has bagged his first opportunity to work for a big banner. He recorded a love song for the duo Salim-Suleiman Merchant along with Shreya Ghoshal. The song will be picturised as a dream sequence on actor Siddharth of Rang De Basanti fame and Shruti Hassan.

Salim Merchant, Anu Mailk and Sunidhi Chauhan are on the panel of judges who take the onus of identifying the potential in the contestants and giving them an opportunity to showcase it.
