Hyderabad-based community radio organizes women workshop

NEW DELHI : In a new initiative, the Hyderabad-based Deccan Radio 107.8 MHz community radio organized training for women in establishing small-scale businesses to help them become self-reliant.

As part of the ‘Celebration of Womanhood’, the programme helps women use their business income and savings to meet their families' basic needs and improve their lives while remaining in their own homes and community.

A two-day exhibition of the artifacts of these women artisans kept on display at the premises of Deccan Radio premises.

The radio is managed by the Siasat Urdu Daily.

H S S Parkal of the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCII), Siasat Urdu Daily Editor Zahid Ali Khan, and other officials from FAPCII and SIDBI addressed the women about various opportunities available to them.
