Hungama's 'MOBiSur' extends deadline

MUMBAI: Cashing on the ever growing mobile and digital market in India, Hungama Digital Media Entertainment has extended auditions dates for its recently launched digital talent hunt ‘MOBiSur’.

Launched in association with Shankar Mahadevan, the property has extended its entry date from 26 August to 16 September 2012. Enabling participation from across the country through mobile handsets or internet connection, the talent hunt received response of over 4,50,000 call-ins and 6,00,000 on the website in 40 days, states the company release.

Mahadevan said, “It’s amazing how three simple words – Mobile, Internet and Sur have come together harmoniously with ‘MOBiSur’ and the remarkable response received solidifies our faith in this unique talent hunt. We are overwhelmed by the amazing response the hunt has received and in light of the promise made to all; we have decided to extend the last date of entries.”

As reported by Radioandmusic.com earlier, the property will roll off a singing talent hunt through digital and mobile platforms. Participants can register and upload their recordings through a mobile code or on the website Mobi-sur.com. The recording duration is limited to one minute and is chargeable at Rs three per minute. The entries will be shortlisted by Mahadevan along with a host of artistes from the fraternity.

10 finalists chosen on the basis of Mahadevan’s scores as well as votes will be flown down to Mumbai to perform in front of him and two other prominent personalities, where the final two winners will be announced. Winners stand a chance to record an album on T-Series with Mahadevan and win a cash prize of Rs five lakh.

The property was launched on 13 July by Shankar Mahadevan, T-Series MD Bhushan Kumar, Hungama Digital Media Entertainment MD & CEO Neeraj Roy and ITC Personal Care Products head of marketing Nilanjan Mukherjee.
