MUMBAI: Celebrating their silver jubilee in the field of music, Bhupinder and Mitali Singh is all set to release an album ‘Aksar…’ penned by ghazal virtuoso Gulzar. The album will be released by Saregama on 25 April 2012. Composed by Bhupinder Singh and arranged by Uttam Singh the album will be released by Saregama on 25 April 2012. of The album features 12 tracks like Neeli Neeli Ankhiyon Se, Jhaankein Re Samundar Jhaankein, Lehron Ke Paaon Pe Aaye Aur Jaaye, Gili Gili Ret Pe Kya Likh Jaaye, Kaisi Lakeerein Aake Aake Jhaankein, Raat Ko Jaane Kya Hota Hai and more. Bhupinder Singh started his career on All India Radio Delhi. In 1964, Singh debuted as a singer with Mohammad Rafi in Chetan Anand's ‘Haqeeqat’. Later, he joined Rahul Dev Burman's orchestra and crooned for Gulzar's Parichay (1972). Some of his renowned tracks includes Dil Dhoondta Hai,Naam Gum Jayega and Ek Akela Is Shaher Mein. Mitali Singh originally from Bangladesh was a recipient of the national award. In 1966, she won first prize for singing competition in East & West Pakistan. In 1972, she won Bangladesh government scholarship to study music in India. Mitali married Bhupinder Singh in 1983 and released her first album in India “Saahil” under HMV in the year 1985.
