Guitar Therapy in Delhi-NCR to promote good therapeutic music

NEW DELHI: Music can sooth the soul and has been proven to have therapeutic properties. In today’s hectic world, it is a necessity that we often ignore.

In a unique initiative, Delhi based multi-vertical music service provider and promoter Guitarmonk has launched the ‘Raga Therapy Music’ to the general public and stressed out company employees.

Under the scheme, Guitarmonk sends professional musicians to malls, restaurants and corporate offices to play a series of soothing rags on the acoustic guitar.

The venue owners pay the musicians their performance fees and conveyance. Already 15 musicians have been deployed at various parts of Delhi and nearby Gurgaon to provide stressed citizen some melodious tranquility.

Speaking with Radioandmusic.com, Giutarmonk founder Kapil Srivastava said Indian classical raga is known to be associated with a person’s biological clock and ragas have been specifically created for certain time of the day enabling a person to benefit from positive vibrations.

“For Raga Therapy Music, we have selected professional music-some from our institute, who practice chosen ragas on their acoustic guitars. The musicians have to practice their respective pieces till they are fluent with it. Their length of the sessions at the venues can be from 15 minutes- one hour. It can also be broken in parts.”

A therapeutic music album gallery, live raga performances, special music themes for relaxation and souvenir gifts will also be available on the site for the customers.
