MUMBAI: Commemorating the 100 years of Indian Cinema, cultural organisation Impresario India will host a string of musical programmes and reminisce melodies of legendary composers and singers.

The fest will commence on 8 July with a special ‘Musical journey of Hindi cinema - talkie era of K L Saigal to the Golden Era of Mohammad Rafi’ at the India International Centre in Delhi. The programme will witness singer Kumar Ranjan performing on classic numbers of the golden era with audio-visuals of the tracks being screened alongside.

With the objective of propagating Indian traditional art and culture, the organisation will host a wide array of musical programmes running through September to enthrall film music aficionados. The event will feature programmes like a gamut of melodies being presented in regional languages on 29 July at India Habitat Centre, and a programme on Hindi film songs to be held on 16 September at India International Centre.

Speaking with Radioandmusic.com Impressario India president Bijan Mukherjee said, “ We are celebrating 100 years of Indian Cinema by hosting these performances for film music lovers.”
