Goa's Sunburn Fest stays on course
MUMBAI: In a scenario when live events in many metros have been cancelled due to the turn of events on 26/11, the PDM-Nikhil Chinapa organised Sunburn Festival in Goa is geared to get underway on schedule.
The Sunburn Fest, in its second edition this year, will once again be held in Goa, on 26, 27 and 28 December. According to Chinapa, among the first people to get in touch with the organisers were John 00 Fleming and Eddie Halliwell from the UK, British artistes who insisted that they would be part of the festival despite the changed circumstances.
Similar messages of support flew in from other international artists and from the entire Indian contingent, he adds.
The PDM team is in talks with the authorities in Goa to ensure stringent security. There will be a three-ring armed security apparatus in place, says a communique that has gone out from the Sunburn team to participants.
While most live events in the country have had to back out of their programmes, since sponsors have been unwilling to put their monies behind the ventures, the Sunburn Fest does not sport any title sponsor, with the organising costs being borne by the Percept team itself.
The release party for Sunburn 2008 will be held at Poison in Mumbai on 10 December.
