MUMBAI: German electro-pop artist Sascha Ring popularly known as Apparat is all set to perform a concert tour for the first in India. Spanning across Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi, the four-city tour will be held from 24 to 31 August 2012.

The EDM artist, who is described as the missing link between Steve Reich and Radiohead, will perform under the aegis of the on-going year of Germany in India titled ‘Germany and India 2011-2012: Infinite Opportunities’. The tour is expected to be filled with richly textured, emotional electronica and heavy sci-fi soul.

The concert will witness Apparat performing on his compilation of new and old songs and for the first time the musician will collaborate with a live band comprising of six members. Apparat’s music is described as euphoric melancholy furnished with guitars, drums, keyboards and other sounds in studio.

Apparat lives in Berlin and is part of the gonzo music collective Moderat. The musician has released three albums under his previously co-owned record label Shitkatapult, and an album The Devil’s Walk under British label Mute Records. Apparat’s tracks have been widely acclaimed and featured in TV shows, including the season four finale of Breaking Bad.
