FM radio station in Ludhiana soon: Manish Tewari

MUMBAI: Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari has promised to create a FM station in Ludhiana soon.

Tewari said two acres of land is needed for the installation of the FM radio station. He appealed to local MLAs and industrialists to arrange for the plot so that the proposal may be processed further.

Tewari further said that the auction of 839 FM radio stations in 294 cities of the country will be completed within the next six months and he desired that Ludhiana should soon have an FM radio station.

The Minister added that the opening of FM Radio Station in Ludhiana would not only provide information and entertainment to the residents of Ludhiana and the surrounding areas but also create a lot of employment opportunities for the local youth.

Tewari pointed out that due to wrong economic policies of the state government, Punjab lags far behind other states of the country. He added that only a dynamic leadership can restore the state on the path of progress.

All together there are 12 radio station in Punjab, 90.4 Guru Nanak Girls College FM Radio Station is the only FM station in Ludhiana presently.
