Fever Mumbai hires another high profile RJ

MUMBAI: Fever FM's Mumbai station, which recently added a clutch of high profile radio jockeys to its roster, has coaxed another wellknown RJ into its fold.

The latest RJ to join the Fever bandwagon is a popular face of a rival radio station. Sources say the new RJ would be hosting the show at Fever from the morning of 15 June.

Radioandmusic.com had earlier mentioned that Fever 104's focus for 2009 would be acquiring talent and strengthening its programming. Following on those lines, Fever has been concentrating on its Mumbai station and hiring RJs this year.

The new jock will be co-hosting the morning slot, Dhinchak Mornings Yachna Ke Saath!' show with RJ Yachna, it is learnt. Fever National Marketing Head Neeraj Chaturvedi says, We want to strengthen our morning show and the new RJ would be a double header to the show. He is a popular RJ from a Mumbai station and would be joining Fever soon....

The station has been hiring RJs from rival stations in Mumbai to shore up talent. The first one was Anuraag Pandey who joined Fever after being a Red FM jock for five years. RJ Karan Singh who hosted the popular 'Yaadein' on Radio City, Mumbai joined with Pandey followed by RJ Rishi Kapoor from Big FM  The new RJ would be the fourth in a series to join Fever FM from another station.

The station has been running a contest for the last few weeks in its Mumbai station to guess the name of the new RJ, who has been appearing as an anonymous voice on air. It is an innovative way of creating a buzz among the listeners by airing teasers on air. We have received thousand of entries from listeners and would be revealing the RJ on Friday,... adds Chaturvedi.
