Fever FM's campaign undertakes social cause

MUMBAI: Presenting another unique initiative from its campaign ‘Fever ka Asar’, Fever FM Delhi helped a HIV positive person under the title ‘Kya Delhi Dilwalo ki Hai?’

The evening primetime show (5-9pm) hosted by RJ Khurafati Nitin, presented the story of the victim Ravi, who is being discriminated and stigmatized because he is HIV positive. Ravi shared his experience of how he still is a victim of discrimination and is struggling to find himself a rented accommodation in Delhi.

RJ Nitin’s urge to listeners to support Ravi through the ‘Fever ka Asar’ garnered over 5,000 SMS and calls from citizens including sportspersons and singers. Shaan, Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir and Vijender Singh amongst others. Playback singer Kailash Kher also offered Ravi a house in the city.

Commenting on the initiative, HT Media Radio and Entertainment business head Harshad Jain said, “Radio is a mass medium and we are glad to use the power of this medium to pick up instances that can change people’s life. People suffering with HIV are as human as any of us, then why should they be treated differently? We believe in supporting initiatives where the society needs a change in outlook.”

Under the umbrella of ‘Fever ka Asar’ the station has hosted a number of initiatives in the past, like helping the inmates of Tihar jail amongst others. With the aim of being responsible for the city, the network is all geared up to undertake similar initiatives dealing with various issues affecting the capital.
