Fever FM unveils another radio play 'Bal Gopal'

MUMBAI: After coming up with successful radio dramas like Ramayana, Gandhi and Bose, Fever FM has initiated another property titled ‘Bal Gopal’.

The radio station has compiled the story of lord Krishna from his childhood days, his pranks and the innocence reflected as a child into the play. It will showcase the reason why Vishnu avatar came into existence and will portray various aspects of his personality including his role as brother, son and friend.

Commencing from 20 August, the play will be two month long series narrated by TV actress and politician Smriti Zubin Irani.

The series will be aired across Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata every weekday at 7am.

Offering listeners an experience of audio animation along with music, the series will also include several situational songs that have been specially created for the play. The tracks have been rendered by artistes like Meenal Jain and Bhavya Pandit.

HT media business head radio and entertainment Harshad Jain said, “We have always believed in offering differentiated product to our listeners and ‘Bal Gopal’ is an attempt to introduce our culture to the current generation and has been done in a very youthful & contemporary manner. We have seen similar content on TV but this is the first time it is being taken on the radio platform. Packaged with modern sound, simple language and a popular celebrity association, the series is such that everyone, from a grandson to grandfather, will be able to relate to it.”

Irani said, “It is wonderful that Fever 104 FM has taken the initiative to narrate the childhood story of Lord Krishna through a convenient yet powerful medium – radio. Tales of Krishna are popularly associated with boy child, but through this series we wanted to give equal importance & respect to girl child, which I am happy, is reflected through various episodes. It has truly been a challenging experience to communicate the emotions and create a real life audio environment for radio listeners. ‘Bal Gopal’ is also my first radio debut and I am very excited about it.”
