Emotions supercede eliminations on L`iL Champs

Reality talent hunt shows are know to tug at people`s most sensitive emotions. It shows how the person next door gets the platform to achieve his dream. And apart from the recognition the participants get from viewers, it is always their family ties that give them the encouragement to realize their dreams. And, it is also only family ties that can break one`s cool exterior.

A parent`s special on Zee TV`s L`iL Champs turned out to be more than just the participants singing their parent`s favourite songs. The songs chosen had their own history of connect between the kids and their folks. With each song, the emotions expressed were only heightening, and very soon all on the sets were reaching for their handkerchiefs.

And it was the same with all in the control room. Director Gajendrra Siingh had tears streaming down his face and it was the same with others watching the shoot. "The songs touched everyone, especially the judges as they remembered their parents. Shaan was first to break down as he recollected his days with his father. And, Abhijeet, Alka and Bappi da who were all fighting tears till then, just broke down. It is rare to get all charged up but the rendition of the L`iL Champs just broke everyone`s brave fa§ade," said Siingh.

The judges deliberated and decided not to oust any kid, but cards on their performances. Shraddha was sure of being eliminated because she had got overwhelmed while singing and ruined her performance. And, was pleasantly surprised to see that the judges had noted that she needed to work harder and not let her state of mind affect her performance.

It was a breach from the normal routine but as Alka Yagnik stated, "Indians are ruled by their emotions. The songs sung by the kids today cannot be quantified or marked. It will break our hearts to eliminate any kid in an episode that had all of us in tears. Each song brought back memories of our childhood and our parents and this episode has really stirred memories for us."

Siingh says, "My endeavour has always been to put forward a show that connects with the viewers and I feel that the participants of L`iL Champs have brought out the child in us and we reminisce our childhood dreams and hopes. This episode will definitely have parents give their kids an extra hug after seeing the show."
