DRM General Assembly elects new governing body

MUMBAI: Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) Consortium has elected new governing bodies at the General Assembly held on 28 -29 March in Winnersh, UK.

The Consortium has also inducted two new members’ receiver chip-set manufacturers – Frontier Silicon and NXP Semiconductors to its Steering Board.

The annual meeting also re-elected DRM members - Ruxandra Obreja (BBC) as the chairman of the DRM Consortium along with Jochen Huber (Transradio) as vice chairman, Ludo Maes (TDP) as vice chairman and Commercial Committee chairman, Lindsay Cornell (BBC) as Technical Committee chair and Alexander Zink (Fraunhofer) as treasurer.

The two-day annual meet discussed presentations and updates from around the world and set the strategy and budget for the next year. Two new members were also announced – Parrot SA and Keystone Technologies to join the DRM Consortium.

The General Assembly is the largest decision-making body of the DRM Consortium which elects its governing bodies and representatives every two years.
