MUMBAI: The radio network Dhamaal of BAG Films, has posted revenue of Rs 6.43 million as against Rs 5.58 million in Q1 previous year, a rise of 15.35 per cent.

Radio Dhamaal is currently operational in nine stations across India. The one station it is due to launch in Shimla, is likely to go on air soon.

The radio venture has  managed to cut down losses from Rs 12.7 million (quarter ended June 2008) to Rs 6.78 million for quarter ended June 2009. Reason for reduction in losses might be attributed to cut down on operational expenses.

The company's consolidated revenues stood at Rs 136 million this quarter as against Rs 154 million in the Q1 previous year.

Says BAG Films managing director Anurradha Prasad, “We have been able to improve the performance of the company in this quarter through sustained impetus on the Broadcasting Business and have been able to increase Broadcasting revenues substantially and brought in efficiency by substantial reduction in cost of operations. We have been successfully able to reduce our consolidated losses by about half quarter on quarter. With sustained growth in revenues in broadcasting and many new shows coming up in Studio 24, we are confident of improving further on our top line and bottom line.”
