MUMBAI: UK based website Desitara.com recently tied up with pop star Taz of Stereo Nation to give aspiring singers a chance to perform with Stereo Nation in UK. The online contest called 'Sing and Dance along with me in UK' is a way to provide platform for talent to get recognized.

Singer Taz will be short listing the entries, and the winner will get the opportunity to perform with him in one of his concerts. All one has to do is sing and post the video on Desitara.com  

Earlier, a band formed on Desitara.com got an opportunity to open the Kailash Kher concert in Bangalore. While a Mysore based band got the golden opportunity to perform on stage with Raghu Dixit.

Desitara.com Marketing Head Amandeep Shahpuri says, "As part of S LAD group, we have our own film production company Connectfilmsmedia. Whilst we can always utilize the talent for our own production company, we have tied up with a lot of established production houses to open more opportunities for talented individuals. And, as, talent feeders, we also want the production houses to look to us for their entire talent requirement."

The website in the past has been associated with talent shows like the Zoom TV's Idea Bollywood club and had tie ups with Subash Ghai films, Eros entertainment, Vishesh Films and Mukta arts through which they give a chance for talent to get recognized on a bigger scale 

Even though the website targets Indian Diaspora from all over the world, Shahpuri says, "We are inclusive to other cultures. For example, we have a chinese girl singing in Lata Mangeshkar's voice, and a girl from France dancing like Madhuri Dixit."

In India, Desitara.com is catching up through word of mouth medium. He says, "A lot of people are bringing their friends and family on Desitara Third Party Events'. We are partnering with lot of third party events as â€?Online Talent Partners' to power their event online. We get all the people to register on Desitara and get them to vote online. This way we deliver benefit to the organizers and get traffic in return." 

Other than music, Desitara.com encourages aspirants to showcase their talents online by uploading their videos in various genres like dancing, acting, sports, magic, modeling and short films. For their forthcoming project, Desitara.com has tied up with Anushka salon in Chennai and launching a Modeling contest with designer Rohit Verma soon.

Desitara.com was started in 2006 by an young entrepreneur Mansoor Ahamed before it was brought over by Bangalore based S.Lad group Pvt ltd. Desitara.com now has its branches in Mumbai, Bangalore, London and Cambridge.
