Daler to croon Tamil tune for Rahman's nephew

MUMBAI: After having made his mark on the Punjabi music scene, noted Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi is all set to rock the Tamil music industry.

Singing for a Tamil movie for the first time in his career, Daler will lend his voice for South Indian superstar Rajnikanth in his forthcoming movie titled Kuselan. Under the baton of music director G V Prakash, who is the nephew of music wizard A R Rahman, Daler will sing the song in Tamil as well as Telugu. "I have been approached by a lot of people to sing for them but none of the offers was big as this. I'm very happy that I'm singing for Rajinikanth. I'm also very happy that I have sung both in Telugu and Tamil," Daler said.

Daler is all praise for the young music director, who has also composed the background score for Hindi movies like Rang De Basanti, Mangal Panday and others. At the young age of 20, he has earned himself many laurels down south.
"He is as big a star as Rehman in the south," says Daler. With 11 films already under his belt and having performed concerts in France and other places, Prakash is definitely playing the right tunes.

Daler is extremely happy with his stint in the south and is looking forward to sing in other languages as well. "If I get any good offer, I will definitely take it up," informs Daler.

Kuselan is set to release in August this year, so get ready to hear Daler sing a whole new tune.
