Combing music for a Guiness record

MUMBAI: A 40 year old BSNL employee is targeting the Guinness Book of World Records and Limca Book of Records with a 24-hour non-stop music concert using a comb on 24 November 2007.

At the concert, which would start at 10.30 am on Nov 24 and end at the same time next day, John Selvaraj plans to sing around 1000 popular film songs and light music numbers in Hindi and Tamil.

No song would be repeated unless the audience insisted on replay, and the solo performance would have no accompanying instrument.

The entire programme would be videographed and the recorded CDs would be sent to the authorities of Guinness Book of World Records as well as Limca Book of Records, says a PTI report.

Selvaraj says he has been practising comb music since the age of 10. A non-stop 24-hour `comb music` concert was his life-long ambition. The comb is covered by a soft paper and played in a manner similar to mouth organ.
