MUMBAI: Pop diva Britney Spears' 2007 album 'Blackout' has been inducted in the prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame music library and archives.

The critically acclaimed album is Spears' only work to get this recognition. The electro pop record comprises of tracks like 'Piece of Me', 'Gimme More', 'Heaven on Earth' and 'Ooh Ooh Baby' amongst others.

Recognised as the most influential album in the past five years, 'Blackout' sold over a million copies in July 2011. The songs 'Gimme More', 'Piece of Me' and 'Break the Ice' topped Billboard's Dance/Club Play Songs chart, making it her only album to accomplish this feat so far.

'Blackout' can be accessed by music fans and even cited by scholars for academic work. The hall has developed the archive to be the 'most comprehensive repository of material relating to the history of rock and roll, in order to broaden awareness and understanding of the genre, its roots and its impact on the society'.
