Bollywood is the medium to reach masses, not albums: Mamta Sharma

MUMBAI:  Playback singer, Mamta Sharma who made her impact in Bollywood with Dabangg, believes that bollywood is the medium to grab eyeballs and reach a mass audience. Currently, albums are not in her career plans.

She avers,” I am too new to experiment. I got my identity because of Dabangg and it brought me into the league of leading playback singers of India. I love singing and I don’t mind singing item numbers in bollywood.”

Recently, Sharma is waiting nervously for the review of Dabangg2 and has rendered a tamil track ‘Sakku Bhai’ in Nagarjuna's ‘Damarukam’. Although, the husky singer is thrilled to sing in languages including Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Bengali she is unable to learn those languages, and translates it to English or Hindi, before actually singing them.

With regards to her working experience with Lalit Pandit (Dabangg) and Wajid (Dabangg 2), she considers both the music composers gave her the liberty ito work and were easy to work with.

Some of her upcoming movies include Himmatwala, Grand Masti and Bullet Raja. Meanwhile, Sharma also has plans to tour Singapore and Malaysia this New year.
