Big`s Mumbai station turns one

MUMBAI: Big FM completes a year of operations in Mumbai on 14 November 2007.

The station hosted a Meet n Greet for children from the Make-A-Wish Foundation of India, with Saawariya actors Ranbir and Sonam.

The first wave of RAM findings have accorded Big`s Mumbai station the highest reach among private FM players in the metropolis.

In addition hosting a party with Ranbir and Sonam for the kids from Make-A-Wish Foundation® of India, the station enabled Mumbaikars to wish the Station a "Happy Birthday" by sending the greetings via SMS to 55454. For every SMS received, Big will donate Rs 9.27 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of India, says a release.

Time checks have been specially recorded to involve the listener perspective in their own voice, the release adds.

The station has also undertaken a sapling plantation initiative, which will have saplings equivalent to the number of Birthday Wishes the station receives, planted across the city. The station will also provide a platform to the citizens and local authorities as they discuss and debate on all aspects of Safety and Security in Mumbai. The discussion forums that will raise awareness on various issues of concern to Mumbaikars will include BMC, Western Railway, BEST and Auto and the Taxi Drivers Union.

Says Big FM Mumbai`s station director Arjun Singgh Baran, "We have, in the last one year, undertaken initiatives that impact people`s lives positively and our anniversary celebrations are no different - whether with the kids from Make-A-Wish Foundation® of India or the other on air and on ground initiatives."
