Big FM takes talent hunt to Chennai, Orissa

MUMBAI: Big FM Chennai has launched a music talent hunt 'BIG Singaara Singer', an initiative to search talent from the streets.

Through the contest, Big FM will identify two golden voices from Chennai from aspiring singers , one male and one female , and will give them an opportunity as playback singers in a forthcoming Kollywood movie. The registration for the contest starts on 21 April and the two winners will be announced as the "Big Singaara Singer" on 17 May.

Chennai will be divided into North, South, West and Central zones and stringent on-air and on-ground auditions will be conducted separately in each of the four categorised locations. Participants will be selected from each location who will be eligible to participate in the quarter-finals. Ten of them will advance to semi-finals out of which one male and one female will be crowned the winners.

The contest will be judged by famous Kollywood playback singers like Tippu, Harini, Ranjith and Vijay Yesudas among others. The winners will be featured as playback singers by famous music director Vijay Anthony in his forthcoming movie.

Speaking about the initiative Big FM Tamil Nadu Cluster head P B Ramaswamy said, "There is a plenty of talent hidden in every Tamilian and this is part of Big 92.7 FM, Chennai's endeavour to live the Tamilian Pride in everyday offerings. Through this initative we are providing the talented with a platform to be recognised and get an opportunity of a lifetime."

Big FM has already finalised plans to conduct 'Big Voice of Orissa' contest in twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, Orissa . It has also launched a pan- India talent hunt , the 'Punjabi-Please 5 city concert ' with Sonu Niigam .
