Big FM rolls out social campaign for World No Tobacco Day

MUMBAI: On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, Big FM has launched a social campaign ‘Cigarette Bhujao Life Banao’, contributing to the welfare and development of society.

The campaign takes on the pressing issue of smoking and the various harms related to it. To promote the noble cause, Big FM has joined hands with Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi who is also the ambassador for WHO’s anti-smoking movement. The actor has signed ‘Quit Smoking’ on cigarette caricature cut-out which will be placed across the city, so that people can support the campaign and spread awareness.

Speaking to RJ Ankit about the campaign, Oberoi said, “I strongly feel about the need to spread the message of the dangers of smoking and how tobacco related diseases like cancer, tuberculosis can wreck the lives of individuals and their families alike.” He also shared insights and anecdotes from his upcoming movie ‘Kismet Love Paisa Dilli’.

As a part of the campaign, RJ Ankit also spoke with various celebrities like Javed Jaffrey, Ayushmann Khurrana amongst others on the dangers of smoking and its effects. Besides this listeners shared their experiences and doctors gave tips.

Commenting on this initiative, Big FM spokesperson said, “ We believe in using our medium – radio to spread awareness and promote noble causes for the society. This campaign has been conceptualized to draw attention towards World No Tobacco Day. As a brand that celebrates Mumbai’s passions, this is our way to create awareness and draw people away from using tobacco.”
