Big FM pays tribute to legendry music director R D Burman

Mumbai : To mark 68th birthday of the music maestro R D Burman, Big FM Kolkata will air R D Burman special programme all day. R D Burman, popularly known as Pancham, ushered in the era of electronic rock providing a new genre of music in Hindi film music. All the valued listeners will be greeted with melodious songs composed by R D Burman right from breakfast show BIG CHUMUK till night. Big 92.7 FM will also play Burman`s superhit music on air in BIG Ride- The special free ride for Kolkatans to office by BIG 92.7 FM. Office goers can listen to the foot tapping evergreen music of R D Burman on Air. They can also make request to the RJs on BIG Ride to play specific Burman`s music of their choice. BIG FM will also announce the route of BIG RIDE on air all through the day.

A special on ground event has been conceptualized by BIG 92.7 FM at the Music World where the RJs will present mementoes in remembrance of R D Burman to every fifth (pancham) person walking in. Announcing the initiative, Big 92.7 FM Station Head Bodhayan Roychoudhury said, "R D Burman, the legendary music composer has really brought the groove into Hindi Film music thus creating a new genre of music in 70s to 80s. His hip, energetic youthful compositions as well as melodious ones have the same appeal today. We at BIG 92.7 FM are paying a tribute to this maestro by bringing back those nostalgic days on air on his 68th birthday".
