MUMBAI: Big FM listeners can now enjoy memorable songs from films like Bombay, Dil To Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kareeb, Dil Se, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Taal, as the network introduced a new segment 'College Classics' that focuses on the 90s music. It will take listeners in their 40s to a journey of their college life.

The segment is set to charm its listeners between 9 to 10 a.m.; and 7 and 8 p.m. every day.

Speaking with Radioandmusic.com, Big FM business head Ashwin Padmanabhan said, "Big FM has always catered to people of 25 years and above, who form the core of our listener base. Even though Indians enjoy listening to different kinds of music and have changing tastes, we believe music on shows such as 'College Classics' is something that is well-liked and eternal and something will help us connect, engage and involve with the target group in an improved manner."

The biggest hits from the era include songs from films like Aashiqui, Saajan, Phool Aur Kaante, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, 1942: A Love Story, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and so on, and will be part of this segment.

Padmanabhan also added, "College Classics is an addition to our lineup of shows on Big FM. It presents a new segment of 90s music that continues to occupy a lasting place in the hearts of men and women who were college-going youth in the 90s. That particular time is also considered to be retro in many ways, so the show is an extension of retro."

In the Delhi station, RJ Deepak and Nisha will host the show between 9 and 10 a.m. while RJ Sakshi will present between 7 and 8 p.m. In Mumbai, RJ Rani will host the 10 to 12 p.m. show and RJ Dileep will take over the one from 7 to 8 p.m.

Recently, all the Big FM stations in North India including Delhi were promoting a unique initiative 'Kudiyan Di Lohri'. For the initiative, music composer Shamir Tandon created a beautiful song for the girl child, which was sung by young girls chosen through an on-air contest.
