MUMBAI: In an endeavor to encorporate Marathi music in its programming, Big FM has launched a new show in its morning slot 'The Big Marathi Top 10'. The new show will be encorporated in the already running morning show �Masala Chaha' which airs on the station between 6 and 8am.

The �Big Marathi Top 10' will play the top 10 Marathi songs of the week. The Station has ensured a careful system to evaluate the songs and ensure only the best make it to the top 10. The songs are selected from songs released over six-eight weeks. So these would cover, movies released the last week, the current week and the up-coming song breaks. To ensure mass appeal and public demand, popularity of songs is mapped online, customer trends are explored through music store visits and album sales mapped, listener feedback on songs of their preference, interactions through home visits and more.

'Masala Chaha' breaks up in two parts. First one hour will air devotional songs giving Mumbaikars a taste of Marathi aratis, bhajans, bhang and bhavgeete. In addition to the �Big Marathi Top 10', the show is packed with regional issues and local happenings, this section will also see Marathi actors, theater personalities, musicians and celebrities for interviews and more.

The countdown is carefully crafted by a very able team, which undertakes intensive research to understand the likes and preferences of listeners before putting together the top 10 Marathi songs.
