Bickram Ghosh, Papon, Rachel Sermanni to perform at Alchemy Fest

MUMBAI: Troikala project a collaborative initiative by renowned percussionist Bickram Ghosh, Assamese singer Papon and Scottish singer-songwriter Rachel Sermanni, will perform on 13 April at the Alchemy fest.

The trio will present cross country compositions and will share stage with Shankar Mahadevan, sitarist Purbayan Chatterjee and folk rockstar Raghu Dixit at the three day festival.

Bickram Ghosh said, “To be invited to perform at the Alchemy Festival is an honor for us. This only goes on to show that Troikala has been a success and that people have truly appreciated our effort to bring art, culture and music together.”

Alchemy Festival will explore the diverse culture and encompass contemporary and traditional music, dance, literature, film and fashion of UK, India and South Asian countries. Troikala will perform at Queen Elizabeth Hall, London.

The musicians are working together from December 2011 to produce an album and a concert tour in India and UK to showcase their collaborative efforts. The project is curated and organized by British Council in association with Folktronic.
