B4U Music gets encrypted; shifts to AsiaSat 3S

MUMBAI: B4U Music is getting encrypted but will stay as a free-to-air (FTA) channel.

B4U Network is also upgrading its two channels B4U Movies and B4U Music to MPEG-4. Both the channels will use Irdeto's encryption system.

B4U is also shifting to AsiaSat 3S satellite from 7 December. The transmission from PAS-10 will be stopped from 31 December.

With the change in compression technology to MPEG-4, the channels will see improved coding efficiency, increased ability to encode mixed media data (video, audio, and speech), error resilience to enable robust transmission, and ability to interact with the audio-visual scene generated at the receiver.
