MUMBAI: ArtistAloud.com encouraged and applauded the best of independent music with its awards this year.

‘Beach Drum Remix - Original Saints’ by Miss Diamond DJ picked up the Best Song of the year. Rajnigandha Shekhawat for her song ‘Kevdo’ and Nishant Mudgal for his song ‘Sapna’ were awarded the Best Singer Male and Female respectively. The Best Group was bagged by Eka for the song name ‘Christmas – Feel it in the Air’ and singer Paadhai won in the Best Genre category for his song ‘Nilavudan Naan’ in Global.

The awards lasted over a month and had fans voting for their favourite on the Internet, Voice Platform and SMS. The awards celebrated the success of independent music in genres like Pop, Rock, Fusion, Alternative Rock and Global (Spiritual, Global, Light Music, Hindi Rap, Sufi, Country, Alternative Raga, and Club).
