MUMBAI: Academy Award winner AR Rahman will be featured in the primetime series Oprah Winfrey’s next chapter, on a two-part special episode titled Oprah Travels to India. The show highlights Rahman‘s foundation KM Music Conservatory and features a performance with The KM Music Conservatory children’s choir. Capturing her first trip to the country, Oprah Travels to India is set to premiere on 22 April, 2012 at 8/9c on OWN with part 2 of the episode, Women of India, to air on 29 April. Rahman met Oprah in 2009 when he captured the international spotlight for his work on Slumdog Millionaire after winning two Academy Awards for ‘Best Original Score’ and ‘Best Original Song’ for ‘Jai Ho’. Oprah Travels to India is part of the new primetime series, Oprah’s next chapter, in which Winfry steps outside of the studio for enlightening conversations with newsmakers, celebrities, thought leaders and real-life families.
