MUMBAI: The Harsh Goenka-led RPG group on Tuesday said that it has appointed Apurv Nagpal as chief executive officer of its entertainment company Saregama.

Nagpal will be based in Kolkata and drive the operations of the company, RPG group chairman Goenka told PTI. Nagpal joined the company on 15 January. Prior to this appointment, Nagpal was marketing director of SABMiller Plc.

Nagpal succeeds Subroto Chattopadhyay, who stepped down as managing director of Saregama earlier this month.Nagpal has national and international exposure of over 14 years across industries in consumer goods. He has been with companies like Procter & Gamble, British American Tobacco and Reckitt Benckiser.

Saregama has a library of at least 25,000-hours of Indian music and owns the largest music archives in India.
