MUMBAI: BAG Films managing director Anurradha Prasad was elected unopposed as the new president of the Association of Radio Operators of India on Tuesday.
She takes over from Radio City CEO Apurva Purohit whose extended two year term has come to an end.
AROI secretary general Uday Chawla says that Prasad was the only candidate in the fray and her candidature was accepted unopposed by all members. The rest of the governing body of the AROI, remains the same. The first president of the AROI, formed in 2007, was Rajeev Mishra after whom, Purohit took over as the AROI president.
All presidents have a two year term. Commenting on the new appointment, Purohit said, In the last two years AROI has worked on several initiatives within the industry as well as with the government to ensure the growth and success of the medium. I am sure Ms Prasad will help take AROI and the FM industry to greater heights...
