Anu Malik: Not 'Teree Sang' anymore

Mumbai: The rift between music director Anu Malik and director Satish Kaushik over the music of Teree Sang remains unresolved.

Speaking on the legal notice that Anu Malik filed against Satish Kaushik over the music of Teree Sang, Kaushik has expressed his agony over the fact that drastic step like going to the court was taken by Anu Malik. The fall out happened when Satish Kaushik decided to rope in composers Sachin and Jigar to work on the songs for his home production Teree Sang along with Anu Malik.

"I wanted some youthful and updated songs for the film, that was the reason why I roped in Sachin and Jigar," said Kaushik. For those who don't know, the duo has been assistants to music director Pritam.

Association between Anu Malik and Satish Kaushik is not new, perhaps, this is what shocked Kaushik, "I am shocked at the turn of events – this is not the first time that music from more than one composer has been used for a film." Referring to the legal notice which he has received from Anu Malik, he says, "I have sat down with my lawyers and they will be sending a legal reply to Malik's notice." However, Kaushik maintains that Anu Malik had come to an agreement when he was told that two compositions would be used for Teree Sang

Speaking to radioandmusic.com, Anu Mailk stated that he does not wish to associate his name with the film anymore, adding that he will also not allow any of his songs to be used in the film.

The film Teree Sang deals with the sensitive subject of teenage pregnancy and is slated to be released this summer. The movie stars Ruslaan Mumtaz, newcomer Sheena Shahabadi, Sushmita Mukherjee, Rajat Kapoor, Neena Gupta and Anupam Kher.
