MUMBAI: After several weeks of musical battle, Aniruddha Joshi from Nagpur was crowned the winner of the eighth season of Marathi SaReGaMaPa.

Joshi showed his singing prowess in a stiff competition from Rahul Saxena and Apoorva Gajjala to win the top slot in a colourful and musical grand finale held on 1 August.

Christened as 'Idea SaReGaMaPa - Best of Best, the eighth edition of the show saw the runners-up of its earlier seasons vying against each other to win the competition.

Aniruddha as the winner bagged Rs 2 lakh from the channel Zee Marathi, a grand home package worth Rs 1.30 lakh from Tata Chorma and Rs one lakh from Cottonking.

"No doubt that the show has helped us immensely. It was a great platform to get noticed and reach a wider audience. However, now after winning the competition I feel that my responsibility has increased further. I would like to work more in the industry rather than participating in another reality show," the 25-year-old Nagpur-based crooner told PTI.
