AirCheck takes media monitoring to Ahmedabad

MUMBAI: RCS India has expanded its media monitoring services to include all commercial radio stations in Ahmedabad.

AirCheck India, a BPO entity and subsidiary of the US-based RCS Inc, has been involved in providing audio identification services of commercials and songs played on air. The service helps broadcasters to track competition and to gear their own marketing activities as AirCheck India monitors radio stations around the clock and provides "same day" verification. The company says it intends to launch monitoring services for at least two other Category A markets before the end of October 2007.

RCS India general manager Karl Kessler says, "Of the five radio stations licensed for Ahmedabad, four are already on air. And Ahmedabad is classified as a Category A market, with considerable economic strength. This makes it extremely viable for our expansion plans."

According to RCS India Sales Manager Kanan Bhuta, "Even before the start of monitoring in Ahmedabad, we received inquiries, asking when data for the stations would become available. This shows how crucial this information now is to the broadcasters in their strategic planning."

ENIL vice president marketing Kaushik Ghosh says, "We are already using AirCheck monitoring services in all the available markets. Our senior management has been waiting eagerly for the commencement of AirCheck services in Ahmedabad. Now, during the festive season with increased emphasis on advertising, the data are even more important to us."
