AIR documentary bags award

MUMBAI: 'Sukritham', a documentary broadcast by Thiruvananthapuram All India Radio (AIR), has bagged the award for the best family welfare programme at the national level.

In a press release on Monday, AIR's Thiruvananthapuram Station Director said 'Sukritham' narrated the fight of a father and a mother to bring their daughter, born with Down's syndrome, a chromosomal disorder, to the mainstream.

'Sukritham' was directed jointly by Leelamma Mathew, programme executive in charge of health and family welfare division, and M.V. Sasi Kumar, transmission executive. The script was by Koduvashannur Murali.

Meanwhile, the Kerala stations of All India Radio are now getting ready to broadcast the Swati Tirunal Sangeethotsavam from Tuesday till May 7. The telecast will be from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. There will also be a live telecast of the music concert on May 8 from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
